Joining Joyce and friends for Hodge Podge Wednesday today:
1. What is something you are loving right now?
The fact that my kids are OFF SCHOOL from Wednesday through Friday while our teachers (to include my husband) are in Kansas City at an Educator’s Conference – it is kind of a Winter Break – minus my hubby though. *sniff *
2. Paris, Venice, New York, and Rome are considered four of the most romantic cities in the world. Which one would you most like to visit?
Well, I’ve been to all 4 cities … New York City is fun and busy but not really what I’d consider “romantic”. It doesn’t get more romantic than Europe in my opinion!!
In 1996 Dan and I visited Paris (we were stationed in Germany with the Army so we had 3 years to see many of the nearby countries):
In August of 1997, we did a 9 day tour of Italy to include Venice and a gondola ride (not so romantic because in this pic, I am sitting next to someone else’s husband!! LOL):
We also went to Rome, of course, among many other Italian cities:
(Us at Trevi Fountain – and yes, we threw in a coin and made a wish!)
3. Are you a romantic?
I’m a tad too cynical to be a complete romantic, but I can be romantic … I love a good sappy love story as much as any girl – and take me to dinner, buy me flowers, and give me chocolate, and I’m mush …
4. What's your favorite love story made for the Big Screen?
I love all the Austen romances – my favorite is probably A&E’s Pride & Prejudice (though maybe that was a small screen movie?). I also love the old romantic movies like Casablanca and any Bogie/Bacall movie!
5. Everyone loves Pooh bear and friends...which character are you most like and why? Click here for help in answering this question.
The quiz said I was most like Owl … but I actually recently wrote a blog post where I felt quite like responsible, frustrated, uptight Rabbit!
6. What's the best chocolate something you've ever eaten?
oh my … I’ve eaten a lot of chocolate in my lifetime!! I’ve got a Pampered Chef recipe for a Triple Chocolate Cake that is incredible!!! Chocolate cake infused with chocolate chips and glazed with chocolate!!
7. Share a favorite quote about love.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love. I John 4:18-19 (The Bible)
8. Insert your own random thought here.
I am a little sentimental about Valentine’s Day. When my husband deployed to Iraq with the Army in 2003, he left us on February 20. Dan came back to us on February 10, 2004. Valentine’s Day was the only holiday/special occasion that he didn’t miss during the almost-1-year he was gone!

Nice touch to include photos from your visits to the cities, as I saw all those places, but before digital photos!
I can see why Valentine's Day is so special to you. It would be for me too, if that were the case. Ohhhhhhhhh, and Casablanca....I'd totally forgotten that one.
Walking in Sunshine is my Wednesday Link...for Hodgepodge answers, scroll down a bit.
I love the old movies too! Great that your hubs didn't miss Valentines day.
That triple chocolate cake sounds yummy. I'm like you, I can be romantic but I wouldn't consider myself one necessarily.
I love the verse!
Venice would have been more romantic if you were seated next to your own husband : ) Enjoy your day!
I bet that Valentine's Day when your hubby came home was extra-special!
Love the pictures. Looks like you were having a good time with that guy in the boat :)
Have a great day, Connie, and Happy Valentine's Day.
