The Bridge of Peace - A Review
I stayed up last night to finish this book, THE BRIDGE OF PEACE by Cindy Woodsmall.
It is the second book in a series, but I certainly did not feel like I had missed out by not reading book #1 - in fact, I now want to read book #1 in this Ada's House series since I feel like I "know" all the characters:
and I'm looking forward to book 3 of the series coming in paperback in the fall of 2011!
But back to THE BRIDGE OF PEACE ---
If you like Amish fiction, this book is like an Amish suspense novel, with just a touch of romance. The focus is not so much on the details of the Amish ways, although there is definitely enough mention of the traditions and customs that you may learn something you didn't know.
I found the story itself really interesting once I figured out who all the characters were (and there were a slew of them, with several sub-plots going on). Though some of the characters were somewhat stereotypical, as most Christian fiction seems to tend to be, there was enough twists and turns in the plot to keep me guessing. I really enjoyed this book!
I received this book from Waterbrook Multnomah for this review. The opinions are all my own.
