Spring Break Adventures!

Because I'm feeling frivilous and because my camera's batteries are dead right now and becasue I forgot the little memory card & have to download the pics we took straight from the camera, I'm just going to give you a little glimpse of our 2 day "hiatus" on Monday and Tuesday.

Why does time fly when you're having fun??!  I don't know - but it's so true!

So, here's what we experienced - can you guess where we went and what all happened?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On Monday, we started out in the late morning,
and it began to sleet and snow without warning
 (the wrecks we saw were quite concerning)!
As we continued to drive
we prayed to arrive
Alive.  :-O           (it really wasn't THAT bad) ;)
Though the weather wasn't great,
despite a few stops, we were not too late,
and we ended in a big city to the northwest of our state.
When we reached our destination
the kids changed into swimming suits without hesitation!
Big slides and lazy rivers ... and 72 degrees ... at our location!
After hours of splashing,
tubing and wave-bashing,
we went to our room before we found ourselves crashing.
In the morning, we hit the road -
with the traffic flowed -
to a place that recently celebrated Frank Buckles (who died at 110 years old!).
A memorial, a museum, history and facts
for the boys, stories of battles, a war, and attacks.
The girls enjoyed it too - though the enthusiasm lacks.
THEN - oh fun - oh joy!
We drove to a place where you can find the ultimate girl toy!
Not so much interest for the boy.
As we girls explored a world of the doll,
our boys escaped into the mall.
They found Barnes & Nobles - and were happy afterall.
Then mom's favorite fast food we did try -
home of chicken and the waffle fry!
Where the silly cows want you "mor' chikin" to buy ...
Home again, home again ...
Long drive then.
Good get-away from which we'll have lots of "Remember when..."
