When my children were about 5 years old, they memorized the verse in Psalms that says, "What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee." The verse helped them through scarey times and when facing new situations which seems to be a fear universal to all children.
In this book, Padraig - a dragon - and Roger - a turtle - are on camping trip, enjoying all the fun foods and adventures of camping ... UNTIL it turns dark!! A discussion section in the back of the book can help parents discuss not only the story but also how to handle scarey situations - like finding yourself in the dark - with God's help.
This book is actually 2 stories in one! First, there is the story of Padraig & Roger's camping trip ... followed by the "The Legend of Mountsillymanborrow" (which is a story that Roger wanted to share with his best friend while camping).
This is a sweet, fun children's book - suitable for boys and girls. The illustrations are lovely as well. I definitely would recommend this book to be read aloud and then discussed.
