Wheelin' and Dealin' (probably considered a *VBP!)

*VBP = very boring post.

You all know I'm new to this whole couponing, matching up sales, finding deals thing (I mean, I've always used coupons and looked for sales - but these days I'm SERIOUS about it.  My life budget depends on it).

Since I have about zero interest or time (to wash) or space (to store/hang) or well, ok, honestly, zero interest in cloth diapering (and God bless you cloth-diaperers - I am glad we can all get along despite this difference), I am stuck buying diapers.  I am thankful to say that as of yet, I have not paid FULL PRICE for any diapers except Target Up & Up brand which run about $6.99 for a package anyway.  For the first few months of M's life, we subsisted on almost only gifted diapers!  In fact, I had so many, I gave some newborn & size 1 diapers to TWO other expectant moms when M moved into size 2.   What a blessing.

So, now, I am always on the lookout for coupons for name-brand diapers though Miss M's bottom is not sensitive, and she does well in any brand or generics - and she doesn't have the BLOW OUTS that her sister had (those up the back, up the front, down the leg blow-outs - kwim??!) ... WELL:

Amazon sells DIAPERS!!  Duh.  I've been wondering what to do with my ever-accumulating swagbucks next ... and then I saw a post at moneysavingmom.com that gave me the proverbial "lightbulb moment".  I just bought 124 diapers for about $.05 a diaper - shipped FREE.  They should be arriving on my front porch on Saturday.
Now, I did have to go thru some hoops to do so BUT here's how it went down:

Item(s) Subtotal: $31.97 (that's what the Huggies Supremes - 124 count box is going for right now @ amazon)
Huggies Supreme Little Movers Diapers, Size 3, 124-Count

Shipping & Handling: $0.00 FREE - thank you very much "Amazon Mommy" account sign-up benefit & 1 qualifying purchase.
Promotion Applied: -$9.59  I also signed up for their "subscribe & save" program which gave me 30% off my order - I will CANCEL this service tomorrow.  The terms clearly state that you may cancel at any time, and hence, I am taking them up on that.
Promotion Applied: -$6.39
20% off diapers at amazon code from PARENTS magazine (which I have a FREE subscription to!!).
Total Before Tax: $15.99

Estimated Tax To Be Collected: $0.00

Gift Certificate/Card Amount: $9.92<--- thank you swagbucks & surveys (I fill out occasional survey via Opinion Place on AOL for a few amazon $$ here & there)
Grand Total: $6.07 divided by 124 diapers = $.048 cents PER DIAPER  :)

That seems like a lot of work ... but I actually LIKE doing stuff like this.  It's ok.  And these 124 diapers should last me a good - oh, say, about - 3 days.  ;)

*Actually, M goes through about 5 diapers on a good day so they will actually last me 20-25 days (about 3 weeks).
