So, the other day I shared my latest misadventures in opening my mouth & inserting my foot ... or exchanging feet, whichever the case may be! Calling my own pastor an "old dog" has to be the "cream in my corn" (as my dear friend so recently misquoted - she meant, of course, cream of the crop + something akin to icing on the cake).
That story actually goes like this - 2 of my friends (who I visited in Tennessee) were talking about the one's recent visit to Liquid Lumberdators (Lumber Liquidators!) ... and the other friend said that statement was the cream of her corn ... I'm glad I will not be alone in the senility ward of Knoxville's Senility Home for the Brainless.
Anyway, like I reported, I spent the first two days of school working in the office again as a substitute secretary. One afternoon, it was a little quiet, finally ... and the pastor came by. He was chatting with me and a few others near the office when his cell phone rang. He picked it up to answer it, looked directly at me, and said to the caller, "This is the old dog." I guess I am forgiven.
