School's Out!

Last Friday was the kids' last day of school!!  I don't know who was happier - them or me?!
I'm so glad that they will get the whole summer off this year - no summer school for any of us.
I can't wait to sleep in a little, play outside a lot, and enjoy hot, lazy summer days.
We will also be baby-sitting some friends' children this summer a few days a week, but that will be easy -
more kids for mine to play with so they don't get bored.

The school year ended well for my kids.
Anna completed 4th grade.  She made the A honor roll and had the top Spelling grade in the class:

Andrew completed 6th grade & is on to Junior High next school year!!
He squeaked out the B Honor Roll (not sure if he was going to make it, but he worked hard the last quarter to get some low grades up); he also got the top History grade (which was a blessing after last year's disappointment).  He was given the Citizenship Award for his class ... I think I'm more proud (and more thankful) for the fact that he was recognized for good character rather than grades.  He's had the same teacher for the last 2 years - and she has done so much to encourage his interest in History (his favorite subject) and to do better in Spelling & Language (where he struggles).
We've been very blessed to have so many wonderful teachers at our school!

It is well said...

Can't believe how big your kids are getting--it must be nice to have a little one to cuddle, too! Congrats to the kids on their awards, and hope you all have a restful and fun summer. Sleeping in will be a plus for everyone!

P.S.--I missed you the last few days and figured you must be in the land of no internet! :)

Yay! for Andrew & Anna! =)

Sounds like a delightful summer plan. Baseball, hot dogs, apple pie (& Chevrolet - remember that commercial?)
