In celebration (and because my father had generously given some $ for our kids), we purchased a POOL! Now, in the past, we've had pools ... mostly "kiddie pool" type things that the kids could barely wade in once they got to be older than 7 years! But this year, we had enough money to get a 12 foot by almost-3 foot pool. The only issue was that it had to be set up on a perfectly flat, grassy surface. We own 1.5 acres ... and you'd think on 1.5 acres, you could find 12 sq. feet of flat ground. Well, not hardly in this section of Mizz-ur-ah! Seriously, we had several failed attempts at setting up the pool in sections where just a foot or so of the ground was sloped - and that meant DISASTER (and much water wasted!).
Finally my son and I got down on our haunches and scanned the entire yard for a flat spot. In the front yard, the back yard, the sides ... and we finally figured out an area to hopefully be able to set up this pool. And sure enough, with some finagling, WE DID IT! Let summer begin!

Looks like fun! I wish the rain would quit and the sun would come out by us so our kids could go swimming! Enjoy your pool!
So fun! (And no sand to bring into the house with their wet clothes ~ I'm afraid our creek will be the only pool for us)
We saw fireworks and fireflies Friday night = Summer is here!
Yea!!! I love, love LOVE summer. We swim in the lovely Baker River. The water is clear and the dog hair washed downstream :)
When we can, which isn't often, we go to the ocean which is about a 2 hour drive. The water off New England is cold year round though, so you must have tough skin. I love it if the air is hot enough.
Happy swimming you guys.
