Traditions - Tea & Christmas

For the last 6 years, my daughter and 2 of her friends have been going to Christmas Tea with Mrs. Claus with me and the other girls' mothers. The little tea house about an hour north of where we live is so worth the drive: Shady Gables
Our girls have also participated in "Tea and Etiquette" and "Teddy Bear Tea" and a Tea Birthday Party there. While are girls are being hosted for their special time, we mothers have often enjoyed our own Queen's Tea or other yummy treats in another room. Our girls are now 9 and 10 years old, but they are still good sports about playing along with Mrs. Claus who reads them a story and shares tea (or hot cocoa) and treats with them. I am thankful they are willing to hold on to a small piece of naive childhood and enjoy the simple joy of make-believe and just being a "little girl".
This may be our last year of Tea with Mrs. Claus as the girls are getting older, but also the owner of our beloved tea house is considering making changes - selling or getting a new manager. As each chapter of life, this one too will close - however, I am sure we will replace it something equally as special!
