My family took me to dinner at Cracker Barrel on Saturday evening - and I ordered chicken and dumplings. I had so much left overs that I had enough for my lunch today! :)
I got some flowers and cards - but mostly, I am just grateful to God that I have been blessed with children. It's not even so much that they need to thank me excessively; I appreciate most that we are a happy family most of the time, that we all are close and get along and share life together.
I am thankful too for my own mother. We haven't always been close - but as time goes by, I think I understand her more and more and appreciate her more and more. She became a Christian as an adult (when I was about 8 or 9 years old), and she did her best to transform our home into a Christian home while trying to grow in her faith at the same time. We kind of grew up together in that respect. I know that everything she does, she has my best interest in mind. She's been a wonderful "Oma" to my children - and that means so much to me too.

What a beautiful post Conny!
I don't think any of us really appreciate our parents until we become parents ourselves.
I always think of you on Mother's Day and the special mother's day we shared in Germany when you were expecting our first child. What a trip!! Do you remember the dinner we tried to cookthat sunday in the crock pot??? Hard to believe it has been that long ago.
